Beth Westergreen, Director

Enthusiastic about the mission & vision, Beth Westergreen began her involvement with Heritage Academy when it first began in 2001 – as a volunteer and a substitute teacher. She joined the staff in 2008 as a kindergarten teacher, and served as assistant principal from 2012-2020. She is delighted to be getting back to her roots and passion for early childhood education as the Director of the new Heritage Early Learning Academy. We want every infant, toddler, child, and adult who enter our beautiful facility to know their worth as an image bearer of God, and to help them soar to their highest potential for His glory!

Beth grew up in California, completed her undergraduate degree at Miami University in Ohio, and received a Master of Education degree from North Greenville University. Her first job when she moved to Augusta in 1987 was teaching 3 year olds in a child care center. She married Jeff in 1991, and they have 2 grown sons.

Nicole Johnson, Assistant Director

A native Augustan, Nicole Johnson has been involved in early childhood education since high school. She participated in the early childhood program there and has been dedicated to the field ever since. Before coming to Heritage Academy, Nicole was a lead teacher at Headstart and has experience working with children ages 6-weeks to three-years-old. She has a vast knowledge of local programs and is committed to the advancement of her community through education. Nicole came to Heritage Academy in 2015 and began as a paraprofessional in the Kindergarten classroom before moving into the role of Administrative Assistant in the Front Office. She is thrilled to be the Assistant Director of Heritage Early Learning Academy and is looking forward to continuing to serve the families of her hometown.

Nicole is the mother of three sons, one who is a Heritage Academy legacy student, and has two grandchildren. She loves to read, travel and assist others to plan their own vacations in her spare time. Nicole attends Oasis Church in Hephzibah.
